C.O.P.P.A. (Children�s Online Privacy Protection Rule) Statement to Parents and Guardians

In order for your child to enjoy all of the features of this website, which includes �The Bee Hive Forum�, your child will need to register with my site. Your child should have brought home a permission slip for you to sign to allow them to join the forum. If I do not have a signed permission slip, your child will not be allowed to enter the forum.  If your child lost or forgot their permission slip, you may download one here.

Information Collected

I respect the privacy of children, and do not collect any more personal information than reasonably necessary to enable them to participate in the activities I offer at my website. Once I have express consent from you as outlined above, I will approve your child's registration profile which will include your child's e-mail address (or that or their parent), first name and full last name. I do not have any agreements with outside organizations to collect personal information at my website. I do not share children's (or adult's) personal information with any third party.

Parental Review

As a parent, you have the legal right to review and secure correction of personal information that I have obtained from your child under the age of 13. You also have the right to withdraw or limit your previous consent to our collection and use of the personal information of your child under the age of 13. In order to exercise these rights, parents should contact me using this link; by telephone at (617) 984-8723; or by mail at the address set forth above. I will not release any personal information of children under the age of 13 to persons claiming to be those children's parents without verification that the child's parent is requesting the information. If I make any material change to this notice or the informational practices with regard to children that were in effect when your consent to the collection of your child's personal information was obtained, I will, as required by law, send you a new notice and request your consent. 

I take seriously my obligation to safeguard the confidentiality, security and integrity of personal information collected from my students, and have established and will maintain procedures that are designed for that purpose. Students and parents should be aware, however, that no system is completely secure from hackers, network failure and error, and I cannot guarantee the confidentiality, security and integrity of information maintained on my forum. In addition, from time-to-time I may include external links to other sites.  While I personally review these links before posting them, the site I am linking may not maintain an active C.O.P.P.A policy and I cannot control their content.  Finally, it is important to me that students and their parents understand my policy and practices concerning the collection, disclosure and use of my students' personal information.
