Our School
Broad Meadows Middle School
Quincy, Massachusetts

Established in 1957, Broad Meadows Middle School has become one of Quincy's finest middle schools. With a diverse population that draws from several parts of the city, Meadows possesses a special multicultural atmosphere upon which it thrives. Known for its outstanding curriculum and dedicated staff, the school has been referred to as "a living, breathing, vital example of middle level education at its best." Our primary mission is to provide the finest education possible to each student by offering a challenging academic curriculum, a nurturing environment for the middle school child, and a positive school climate which encourages social growth.

The school also provides a variety of opportunities for students to celebrate their diversity, develop an appreciation for the arts, and encourages opportunities such as community service and global awareness to foster a sense of social responsibility. In September of 1991, Broad Meadows was recognized as a National School Of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education's Secondary School Recognition Program. In addition, Broad Meadows was one of the only middle schools in the country to receive the "Blue Ribbon Award" in both History and The Arts Education. In 1996, Meadows was also bestowed the prestigious Reebok International Human Rights Award for its renowned work with child labor. In 1998, The U.S. Agency for International Development made Meadows the first school ever to receive its "Domestic Partner Award." For 40 years Broad Meadows Middle School, "Home of the Seagulls" has truly been a special place.
